includi academy welcomes Alex Talsma
includi is pleased to welcome digital strategist Alex Talsma to the academy. For more than twenty years, Alex has helped organizations use digital tools in meaningful and effective ways. His particular focus lies on places where people come together physically: schools, theatres, museums, libraries and other public environments. Both nationally and internationally, he has contributed to strengthening social places, including award-winning libraries in Nieuwegein, Kerkrade, Den Helder, Leeuwarden and Oslo.
Digitecture
To describe the early integration of digital facilities into the design process, Alex introduced the term Digitecture. Digitecture helps organizations make the right digital choices today, while preparing for the expectations of tomorrow. Digital facilities thus contribute not only to functionality and aesthetics, but also to experience, accessibility and a sense of welcome.
Workshop
Specifically for the includi academy, Alex developed the Digitecture workshop. In it, project teams learn how to integrate digital facilities into their interior plans from the very beginning. The workshop is both practical and inspiring: participants discover opportunities, avoid common pitfalls and build a solid foundation for their project together.
Design a place that works both digitally and physically
Buildings are no longer just bricks and furniture. Visitors, students, customers and citizens expect physical places to connect seamlessly with their digital lives. Those who respond too late miss opportunities to create genuine connection.
The Digitecture workshop by the includi academy supports organisations in integrating the power of digital thinking into their buildings from the very first design stage. Not as loose screens or ad-hoc solutions, but as a carefully considered digital layer that strengthens the experience and future-proofs the place. Think of audiovisual tools, connection points, lighting and smart technologies that not only enhance functionality and aesthetics, but also contribute to accessibility and a sense of welcome.
You will learn how digital experience becomes a natural part of the design process, how technology and hospitality reinforce each other, and how smart applications enrich places of encounter. This is how a building grows into a place where physical experience and digital strength come together.
Who is this workshop for?
The Digitecture workshop is intended for project teams working on a new or renewed interior plan, together with involved stakeholders such as domain specialists and HR professionals. The aim is to learn how to successfully integrate digital facilities into the interior plan from the outset. This workshop is not about technology itself, but about the strategic use of digital means.
What can you expect?
During this interactive workshop, you will explore which digital facilities are essential in contemporary meeting and public environments. You will look at inspiring case studies, work towards shared insights and learn how technology can be applied in ways that are functional, aesthetic and experience-enhancing. The programme also serves as a valuable process of team building and mutual alignment.
What is the outcome?
After the workshop, the team shares a common vision on digital facilities within the interior plan. You are better equipped to make well-considered choices during the construction process, understand how technology and experience reinforce one another, and have strengthened collaboration within the project team.
